Meet our Specialists in Child Protection & Safeguarding:
Rajveen Kaur

Rajveen graduated from University of Otago with Bachelor of Arts (English), Master of International Business and a Postgraduate Diploma in Commerce. Her career trajectory reflects a global focus on teaching and learning. She contributed her expertise to the Turkish Ulugbek International School and the Westminster International University in Uzbekistan, engaging with learners of different ages. Her teaching initiatives encompassed professional writing, IELTS preparation, and national checkpoint assessments, employing her CELTA qualification.
Rajveen’s professional portfolio extends into HRDF-certified training and ACP-certified coaching. She holds qualifications such as ACC from the International Coaching Federation and is a Licensed Practitioner of NLP®. Her skills revolve around nurturing talent, unlocking potential, and guiding others to overcome self-limiting beliefs while fostering a Growth Mindset. Rajveen has conducted a range of training & development workshops to build capacity internally as well as deliver external programmes ranging from teaching and learning, school improvement planning, quality assurance and knowledge sharing sessions.
Rajveen was part of the team that worked on the framework, policy, procedures and guidelines for safeguarding in LeapEd. Rajveen’s commitment to child protection and safeguarding is evident through her safeguarding certifications and active involvement in establishing frameworks, policies, procedures, and guidelines for safeguarding in schools. She collaborates with schools and educators to reinforce policies and advocate for better safeguarding practices.
Nadhirah Rashid

Nadhirah Rashid graduated from University College London (UCL) with a Master of Science in Global Governance and Ethics and holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Boston University (BU), where she also minored in Muslim Societies. Her academic journey is marked by a focus on international affairs and governance.
Nadhirah has cultivated a career in stakeholder relations, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and education, with key roles at LeapEd Services. At LeapEd Services, she manages stakeholders and partnerships for the company’s pilot project, Sekolah Anak Malaysia (SAM), where she plays a key role in securing residential partners and developing strategic partnerships.
In addition to her corporate role, Nadhirah has been tutoring English to primary and secondary students, helping them express themselves more confidently and fluently in the language. Her dedication to education extends beyond the classroom through initiatives such as Project Girls 4 Girls, Malaysia, where she organizes webinars and assists in mentorship programs to foster leadership skills among young women.
Nadhirah is also deeply involved in mentoring high-potential students from underrepresented communities, empowering them to access higher education. Her advocacy work spans women empowerment, quality education, and environmental sustainability, demonstrated by her role in raising awareness on surplus food at organizations such as The Lost Food Project. Nadhirah’s blend of advocacy, education, and corporate experience underscores her commitment to driving social impact.
Aizuddin Ghazali

Aizuddin, originally from Sabah,is an esteemed educationist with a Master of Education (Counselling) from UKM. With 14 years of diverse experience in various educational environments, he holds several notable qualifications, including Associate Certified Coach, HRDC Qualified Trainer, and Registered Malaysian Counsellor.
His extensive certifications include Child Protection, Certified NLP Master Practitioner, and Certified Project Manager. Aizuddin is a dedicated advocate for educational reform, having made significant contributions to the Malaysia Trust School Programme, where he enhanced leadership and teaching strategies for 21st-century learning.
He also played a key role in the development of Sekolah Anak Malaysia, the nation’s first digital school. His work focuses on supporting school leaders and teachers in achieving excellence in pedagogy and fostering holistic student development. Aizuddin is also the Designated Safeguarding Lead for Sekolah Anak Makaysia (SAM)
Dr. Jayanti Sothinathan

Dr. Jayanti Sothinathan holds a doctorate in Instructional Technology & Distance Education from NSU, USA and a second doctorate in Educational Management & Policy from UM, Malaysia. Currently, she is the Chief Education Solutions & Design Officer at LeapEd with over 35 years of experience in the education field. She was with the Ministry of Education heading initiatives under the Malaysia Education Blueprint (MEB) in teacher education.
At LeapEd, she spearheads education research and development, monitoring and evaluation, designing and delivering the latest iteration of the Trust Schools Programme model and other programmes. Jayanti is an ACP-certified coach and has completed the UNICEF Child Safeguarding Trainer course. She is currently attending the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) Child Protection course. Additionally, Dr. Jayanti serves as a supervisor to postgraduate students in the Faculty of Education at Taylor’s University.

Talian Kasih (LPPKN)

Talian Kasih, an initiative by Lembaga Penduduk and Pembangunan Keluarga Negara (LPPKN), is responsible to spread information as fast as possible to help trace missing children (below 12 years of age) who could be victims of crime or abuse. SCAN Team, Hospital Kuala Lumpur

The Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect Team (SCAN Team) in the General Hospital Kuala Lumpur (GHKL) is considered the pioneering initiative to prevent child abuse in Malaysia in the 1980s. The SCAN Team has undergone its evolution through effectively deal child abuse in Malaysia with the objectives of identifying all cases of abuse seen at, or admitted to, the various wards of the hospital. Alongside this mission, they develop strategies to prevent the recurrence of abuse. Child Protection & Safeguarding officers from the Kuala Lumpur Social Welfare Department liaise closely with SCAN team on child abuse cases. While there is no specific number for this team, referring a suspected or identified abuse case will be managed through this team if deemed applicable.
SUKA Society

SUKA Societyadvocates for the survival, protection, participation, and development, while providing welfare and community development programmes for children and for their families, promoting the best interests of a child by conducting training programmes for children and those who comes in contact with children.

HumanKind

Under social enterprise HumanKind, the Buddy Bear project is a response to the urgent need to support children who are experiencing emotional distress due to the Movement Control Order imposed on all Malaysian as a result of the Corona Virus Pandemic. Children can call the Buddy Bear hotline directly for support.

MERCY Malaysia

The Malaysian Medical Relief Society – better known today as MERCY , was set up by a handful of like-minded friends on a humanitarian agenda. This NGO provides a platform for Malaysians to collaborate leaving footprints in the local and international humanitarian sphere. Recently, along with the support of UNICEF, in their response to the Covid pandemic, MERCY launched a hotline enabling assistance for psychosocial support through a Child Psychosocial Support Line.Parents, caregivers and children aged 18 and below are encouraged to connect with MERCY at 088 038 338 for psychosocial support.

Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat

The Child Protection Team (CCPC) was established at the state and district to serve as a support system for child protection services. Children’s Activity Centre was organized by CCPC to prevent child abuse and neglect.
The team not only provides shelter for the children, but also short courses, reading materials, sports centre, learning centre and counselling sessions.

Women's Centre for Change (WCC)

WCC is a non-profit organisation set up to eliminate violence against women and promote gender equality. WCC provides counselling, legal advice, and shelter for women in crisis. WCC also conducts talks for children and the public on violence against women and women’s rights. WCC has developed resource materials on child sexual abuse prevention and gender violence for children and teenagers.
